Here is a snippit from proto's announcement:

"theKompany.rom by theprototype.org and theKompany.com

Our goal on this ROM is to have an extremely stable, usable, responsive, polished and compatible ROM with the main Sharp feeds.

One of the top priorities was compatibility with existing software. We believe if a program is written for the Zaurus and runs how it is intended, then it is our responsibility to maintain the compatibility for an alternative platform that is meant for the end user.

As well, some of the other objectives were for the enterprise user who depends on this device in mission critical situations. We have built in such things as the current SSH server and client, secure FTP, Nmap, as well as commonly used but notably absent libraries. And a "Hot-Fix" mechanism is in place for updates between flashes for major releases.

Added hardware functionality was worked through and rigorously tested throughout the beta releases of this ROM. GPS users are happy to know their device runs out of the box with updated kernel support, wider Wi-Fi card support range and built in Bluetooth support.
This mixed with theKompany.com's ability to design beautiful software makes for one polished, eye-catching ROM.

Future releases are on the horizon for the SL-5600 and other Zaurus devices landing in North American soil." - quoted from the devnet boards
